The Edition Espressonist

In this project we created a new Sub-brand, “The Edition”, for the chain of coffeehouses, the Espressonist.

Spatial experience is the epitome of the basic elements in creating the most important aspects of a new concept.

This model is common when the audience is in contact with an immersive and interactive environment. The focus is on emotion and engagement when developing strong links between people and built environment. Stainless steel, plaster striped walls, custom floors and overall custom seating and tables were used to form a distinct mixture of emotions.

The main coffee bar uses mechanical kinetic parts functioning in order to propose a new way of serving and a new theatrical view by the client around the bar. A ‘’Coffee Carousel’’ was created above the bar moving the coffee cups from the production to the counter. In this way the delivery time is smaller and the movement of the employees inside the bar was shortened. A blue palette was used forming with the main material, the dramatic use of stainless steel was present in both the exterior facade, the sliding doors and the interiors. A main aspect of the design scheme was the custom lighting fixtures running above the space proposing the clear and bold character of the new Sub-Brand of the company.  The intention was to maintain the symbiosis between the new design elements and the original personality of the existing brand.
